The Thailand Project

Last summer, our Chi Alpha ministry was given the privilege of helping develop a campus ministry in Bangkok, Thailand. We targeted Ramkhamhaeng University with a three pronged strategy.

1. Our campus pastors, Craig and April Woodham, "gave a year" to work with university students in Bangkok for the 2008-2009 school year. While there, they taught English, worked with short term mission teams, as well other forms of outreach, discipleship, and relationship building.

2. Beginning July 2008, UA Chi Alpha began a five year strategy of sending summer mission teams to Thailand. Teams will be teaching conversational English and building friendships as an avenue to live out the gospel and tell people about Jesus.

3. We will be promoting to students and young adults the adventure of "giving a year" in Thailand. Our desire is to see a consistent stream of young men and women being used by God to impact the students of Thailand.

Since June of 2008, R U Connection, a vibrant campus ministry, has been established at Ramkhamhaeng University. (R U)  In that time, around 15 students have given their lives to Christ and are being disciple to lead others to Him.

If you're looking for an adventure that is both fun and spiritually rewarding, consider joining our Thailand Team next summer.

What is "giving a year"?

The concept started as a challenge to college students to give a year of their lives to missions and pray about a lifetime.  The heart of "give a year" is about taking the "if and how" out of missions and replacing them with when and where"
